Ford SYNC Technology Will Support SiRF GPS Receiver For Sync Series
|


Before Harman/Mercedes and Renault Carminat TomTom in-dash GPS, recently we already know about the Ford SYNC technology, the in-dash platform that function for communication and entertainment. Now Ford has been updates SYNC technology with adding new features, so it able to get traffic information via INRIX and using SiRF hardware with TeleNav to receive driving directions.
The SiRF GPS receiver that include in the Ford’s SYNC technology produced by M/A-COM Technology Solutions that offer more accurate GPS location. It provide SiRFDRive 2 GPS software along with GPS antenna and microprocessor controller. It also boast CAN bus transceiver and connector as well as associated software to create location server on the vehicles network. The special features of SiRF chipset in the Ford’s SYNC technology is capable to communicate with other sensors, like speedometer, odometer and position fix when the SPD signal not reliable.
